Biography of the Presenter:
Lei Xiaohui, male, a senior engineer at the professor level, is from Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. He graduated from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Tsinghua University in 1998, majoring in hydraulic structures. In 2007, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in water environment restoration from the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Tokyo.
He is mainly engaged in work related to forecasting and regulation of complex water resources systems. Since returning to China in 2007, he has supported and participated in a number of national science and technology support projects during the "11th Five-Year Plan", "12th Five-Year Plan" and "13th Five-Year Plan" periods, major national science and technology projects on water pollution control and treatment, projects of the National 973 Program, projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, public welfare funds of the Ministry of Water Resources, international cooperation projects, and key scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels. At the same time, as the project leader and a key technical member, he has participated in scientific research and technical consultation on key technical issues of optimal regulation for a number of national projects, such as the Middle Route Project of the South-to-North Water Diversion, the Yalong River Basin, the Yangtze River Basin, the Yellow River Basin, and the Three Gorges Project. The relevant achievements have been widely promoted and applied in multiple river basins and water diversion projects, achieving remarkable social and economic benefits.
