Biography of the Presenter:
Zheng Yanjie is a professor at Minnesota State University in the United States and holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado, USA. As a member and research group convener of the National Floodplain Management Association in the United States, a member and climate change research group convener of the National Society of Environmental Professionals in the United States, a permanent expert of the U.S. House of Representatives, and a technical advisor for floodplain management, he has long been engaged in research on aspects such as water conservancy engineering, urban stormwater management systems, floodplain management, flood prevention and disaster mitigation, the relationship between risk assessment of urban water conservancy systems and climate change, the design of regional flood detention basins, the quantitative analysis of urban low-impact development, and the theoretical application and quantitative analysis of sponge cities. He is the author of works such as "Design of Hydraulic Statistical Models in the Midwestern United States", "Urban Stormwater Discharge Specifications and Engineering Design Standards in Colorado, USA", and "Design and Analysis of the EPA-SWMM5 Hydraulic Model in Metropolitan Areas".
