Biography of the Expert:
Guo Guoliang, male, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages, Zhejiang University. He also serves as the Director of the Translation Institute of Zhejiang University, the Secretary General of the Translation Association of Zhejiang Province, and a council member of the Translators Association of China. His main research areas include the theory of British and American short stories, contemporary British novels, translation, and Western literary theories. He has successively visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Valparaiso University in the United States, and Indiana University as a visiting scholar. He has published 27 papers, 38 translated books, 45 translated articles, and written 7 books. Among them, the most representative work is the Selected Short Stories of Man Booker Prize Winners, which was published by Baihuazhou Literature and Art Publishing House in 2012. His work Globalization - The Consequences for Humanity won the third prize in the "Basic Theoretical Research Category" of the 18th Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences in Zhejiang Province.
