Small hydropower is an internationally recognized clean and renewable energy source and an important rural infrastructure. It serves as an important support for improving the energy structure, protecting the ecological environment, addressing climate change, and promoting local economic and social development. The new situation has put forward new requirements for the safety and ecology of small hydropower, and the development of small hydropower is facing new challenges. Through analyzing the new problems faced by small hydropower in the new era, this report explores the new quality productive forces for the development of small hydropower according to local conditions at the technical, management, and conceptual levels. It discusses the paths for the high-quality development of small hydropower, including intelligent transformation, intensive operation, and property management of small hydropower. It also introduces the practical experience of the intelligent and intensive development of small hydropower.
Biography of the Presenter:
Dong Dafu, male, a senior engineer with the highest professional title, a registered consulting engineer (investment), currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Rural Electrification Research Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Chairman of the Small Hydropower Special Committee of the Chinese Society for Hydropower Engineering. He has long been engaged in the research on the development and utilization of renewable energy, the application of automation and informatization technologies in small hydropower stations, and the research on relevant technologies for the green development of small hydropower. He has carried out consulting and technical training on the standardization of work safety in small hydropower and the establishment of demonstration green small hydropower stations. He has been in charge of or participated in the completion of more than ten provincial and ministerial-level projects, won 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 2 third prizes of provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards, and obtained 6 patents. He has co-compiled 1 monograph, published more than 10 papers, served as the chief editor of 1 national standard, 1 industry standard, and 1 local standard, and participated in the compilation of 2 national standards and 4 industry standards.
